Following their previous album “Gigaton” from 2020, the band wasted no time in writing and recording “Dark Matter.” In just three weeks, they secluded themselves at Rick Rubin’s Shangri-La in Malibu. The album was produced by Andrew Watt, who also worked on Eddie Vedder’s highly acclaimed album “Earthling” in 2022. Bassist Jeff Ament praised Watt’s extensive knowledge of the band’s history and musical style, which greatly contributed to the recording process.

Vedder expressed the band’s commitment to creating meaningful music, stating, “We’re still looking for ways to communicate. We’re at a point in our lives where we have the choice to do it or not, but we still care about putting something out there that is meaningful, In our view, this is our finest work thus far. Without exaggeration, I truly believe this is our best work.”

The world tour will take Pearl Jam to nine countries and 25 cities over the course of six months. Starting in Vancouver, British Columbia on May 4, the tour will span across the United States and Europe before concluding, at least for now, in Sydney, Australia on November 21. The tour will include performances at outdoor baseball stadiums, arenas, and festivals such as Mad Cool and NOS Alive. For a complete list of tour dates, please refer below.
